Clinical Supervision – Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
For psychotherapists looking to develop their clinical work, Todd Hartley offers supervision in psychodynamic psychotherapy.
Supervision is designed to support clinicians to develop both a solid understanding of psychodynamic theory and technique, and the ability to effectively implement these concepts in practice. We will work to develop your confidence and analytically attuned clinical stance—one oriented toward unconscious processes, conflict, and the complexity of psychic life. The aim is to help you facilitate depth-oriented work with clients while sharpening clinical judgment and strengthening case formulation.
Whether you are early in your development, new to psychodynamic work, or refining an established practice, supervision will be a space to think carefully about what is unfolding in the therapeutic relationship and how to work with the underlying dynamics.
Areas of focus might include establishing and maintaining the therapeutic frame, working with boundaries as clinically important structures, developing psychodynamic case formulations, and learning how to recognize and use transference and countertransference as central clinical tools rather than obstacles to treatment.
The aim is to help you feel more grounded and receptive to the unconscious dimensions of the clinical situation, and more capable of working with them in a way that is clinically effective.
